T-Roc Control Module Issues Plague Multiple Systems

Had my T-Roc at 64004km serviced last month and started experiencing these exact problems shortly after. The engine diagnostics showed similar error codes as yours. Good suggestion about the wiring, our symptoms match perfectly. The check engine light and other warning signals seem to appear more frequently on cold mornings. Unplugging the battery did temporarily fix the system failures, but they returned within 2-3 days. My mechanic initially suggested a full control module replacement at 900€, but your wiring harness solution sounds much more reasonable. Will have them check the cable connections first before going for the expensive fix. Did your repair also require any software updates or system resets after fixing the wiring?

Thanks for the additional details about your T-Roc. The timing of these issues starting after the service is very telling, matches what happened with my Golf exactly. After the wiring repair, the workshop did perform a complete system reset and diagnostic scan to clear all stored error codes. No additional software updates were required, but they did recalibrate several control modules to ensure proper communication across the vehicle network. One extra tip from my experience: have them check the ground connections near the battery and transmission. Poor grounding can cause similar malfunction indicator symptoms and make the wiring harness issues worse. In my case, they found some corrosion at a ground point that needed cleaning. The good news is the scan tool should quickly identify if its the same wiring harness fault. My repair has lasted over 18 months now without any system failure reoccurrence. The 155€ I paid seems like a bargain compared to the 900€ control module replacement you were quoted. Just make sure they thoroughly test all connections after the repair. The warning signals should completely stop once the communication issue is properly resolved.

Thanks for the details, this definitely points to a wiring issue rather than a full control module failure. The scan tool showing similar error codes and the temporary fix from battery disconnect really confirms it. Will get the car booked in next week to have them inspect those cable connections and ground points. Much rather pay 155€ for wiring repairs than 900€ for a new module that might not even fix the system failures. Good to know about the system reset and module recalibration needed afterward. The warning lights and unusual control module errors have been driving me crazy, especially on cold starts. Hoping this relatively simple fix will resolve all the electronic gremlins like it did for your Golf. Really appreciate you sharing your experience. Will update once my mechanic completes the engine diagnostics and wiring inspection to confirm if its the same root cause.

I had a very similar issue with my 2017 VW Golf GTI. Multiple warning lights would out of nowhere illuminate, the infotainment system would freeze, and the scan tool kept showing different error codes each time. After two frustrating weeks of intermittent system failures, I took it to a workshop. They diagnosed a faulty cable connection between the main control module and the vehicle BUS system. The warning signals would trigger because different modules lost communication with each other. The repair took about 3 hours. They had to remove some trim pieces to access the wiring harness and replace the damaged connection points. Total cost was 155€ for parts and labor. Since the fix, all systems have been working perfectly with no more unusual warning lights or control module errors. To better assist with your specific case, could you share: Have you noticed any pattern when these issues occur? (after rain, cold starts, etc.), Which specific error codes is your scan tool showing? Does unplugging the battery for 15 minutes temporarily resolve the issues? These details would help determine if your T-Roc has the same root cause as my Golf did.
