Suzuki MR Wagon Dashboard Errors Disrupt System Tests

My car keeps throwing errors in the dashboard and computer memory, likely due to an incomplete system readiness check. A previous mechanic visit did not resolve the problem. Currently driving a 2016 Suzuki MR Wagon (gasoline) with 39384 KM. Has anyone experienced similar issues and can recommend reliable solutions? Concerned about passing the next emissions test with these persistent error messages.

Last month my 2013 Suzuki Swift had similar system readiness issues. After multiple error codes appeared during a vehicle inspection, the diagnosis revealed two main problems. The first was a faulty oxygen sensor in the exhaust system causing incorrect readings. The second issue stemmed from an incomplete computer reset after a previous battery replacement. To resolve this, the repair process required: Replacing the oxygen sensor, Performing a complete system readiness cycle, Clearing the computer memory, Running specific drive cycles to reset all monitors The check engine light disappeared after these repairs. Most importantly, the emissions test monitors all showed ready status within three regular driving cycles. This type of issue typically indicates an emissions control problem rather than a major mechanical failure. The persistent error messages you describe match what happens when the system cannot complete its self-checks properly. A thorough diagnostic scan focusing on the emissions system sensors would be the recommended first step before your next test.

Had the exact same problem with my MR Wagon last winter. After seeing your response about the oxygen sensor fix, it brought back memories since that was exactly my issue too. The car diagnostics showed it was disrupting the entire onboard diagnostics system. Would you mind sharing what the total repair cost was in your case? Mine came to 420€ including parts and labor, but prices seem to vary quite a bit. Also curious if youve had any system readiness alerts pop up since the repair? Getting those emissions test errors cleared can be tricky, and its helpful to know if the fix tends to last.

Really glad to update on my Swift repair outcome. Since that oxygen sensor replacement and system readiness reset, the computer has stayed completely error-free. The car diagnostics are consistently showing all systems ready, which is a huge relief. The best part was actually the cost, the repair itself came to 0€. It turned out the oxygen sensor was still under an extended emissions system warranty, which covered both parts and labor. This was pure luck though, as these repairs typically run between 350-500€ depending on the sensor type. The drive cycle completion after the fix took about three regular trips to get all monitors ready. The car diagnostics havent shown a single error code since then. If your repair resolved the readiness issues similarly, you should be all set for your next emissions test. Just remember that any time the battery gets disconnected, youll need to complete a new drive cycle to reset the readiness monitors. But thats normal system behavior rather than a fault.

Thanks for sharing those details about your warranty coverage, wish I had checked mine before paying! But at least the 420€ fix has proven worth it. Took my MR Wagon to a certified shop that specializes in onboard diagnostics and drive cycle programming. The mechanic actually found a tiny crack in the wiring harness connected to the oxygen sensor, which explained why the system readiness monitors kept failing. They replaced both the sensor and the damaged wiring. After completing the required drive cycles, all systems have stayed green. The vehicle inspection last week confirmed everything is working properly now. No more error messages and all readiness monitors are showing complete. Definitely learned to take system readiness alerts seriously rather than hoping they would clear on their own. Really appreciate everyone sharing their similar experiences. Having these issues properly diagnosed and fixed brings such peace of mind for future emissions tests.
