Suzuki Landy's Electronics Fail After Transport Mode Bug

My 2021 Suzuki Landy Hybrid is showing electrical issues and I suspect it might be stuck in transport mode. The navigation system is completely dead and I get general electrical malfunction warnings. The engine starts normally but various vehicle settings seem affected. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms with their car electronics? Specifically interested in how your workshop diagnosed and fixed this issue. Looking for actual repair experiences and typical costs involved before heading to the service center. Also wondering if there is a way to verify if transport mode is actually causing these problems with the car configuration.

I had a very similar situation with my 2023 Suzuki Solio Hybrid and can share my experience as someone with moderate automotive knowledge. The symptoms were almost identical, electrical glitches, dead navigation, and warning lights. The key fob worked and engine start was normal, but the car configuration settings were all over the place. After checking online forums, I suspected transport mode was the culprit. Took it to the authorized dealer since the vehicle was still under warranty. Their diagnostic confirmed the car was indeed stuck in transport mode, which is a special setting used during vehicle delivery. The fix was straightforward, they needed to use their diagnostic tool to deactivate transport mode and reset the electrical systems. Since the car was new, this was done at no cost (0€) under warranty coverage. Before offering more specific advice, could you share: Exact build month/year of your Landy, Current mileage, Whether the issue appeared suddenly or developed gradually, If any recent work was done on the electrical systems, If the car is still under warranty This information would help determine if your situation matches what I experienced and whether you might be eligible for warranty coverage.

Had my latest service at 12814 KM and they found nothing wrong during inspection. The dealer mentioned a software update might resolve these vehicle settings issues. I observed that warnings come and go out of nowhere during engine start, but the navigation stays consistently dead. My guess is there might be a communication issue between modules in the car electronics. Before booking another service appointment, I tried disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes to reset the car configuration, but it did not help. Would it be worth trying the transport mode reset procedure you described, or should I go straight to the dealer diagnostic? My warranty is still valid for another 8 months.

Thanks for those additional details. Since my Solio went through similar symptoms, let me share what I learned from my experience. The battery disconnect reset you tried is usually a good first step, but like in your case, it did not resolve our electrical gremlins either. The unusual warning behavior during engine start combined with the completely dead navigation actually matches what I experienced before the transport mode was corrected. Given that your car is still under warranty and the issues affect multiple systems, I strongly recommend going directly to the dealer for a proper diagnostic check. In my case, attempting DIY fixes could have complicated the warranty claim. The software update they mentioned could be relevant, after deactivating transport mode on my car, they also installed the latest control unit firmware as part of the fix. This comprehensive update helped resolve all the electrical quirks and restored proper vehicle settings. The complete dealer visit involved: Full system diagnostic check: 0€ (warranty), Transport mode deactivation: 0€ (warranty), Software update to latest version: 0€ (warranty), Testing all affected systems: 0€ (warranty) Total repair time was about 3 hours. Since your warranty is still valid, you should be able to get the same resolution without costs.

Appreciate the detailed feedback. What you described with your Solio matches my situation perfectly, especially the part about unusual warnings during engine start. Based on your experience, I will schedule a dealer visit this week while my warranty is still active. Since multiple systems are affected and the battery reset did not help, having them check for transport mode and do a complete diagnostic seems like the smartest approach. Good to know the car electronics can be fully restored through their diagnostic tools and software updates without any out-of-pocket costs. I will ask them specifically about checking the transport mode and car configuration settings when I bring it in. The fact that your repair took about 3 hours also helps me plan the service visit better. Thanks for sharing your actual repair experience, it saved me from attempting more DIY fixes that could have affected my warranty coverage. Will update the forum once I get the diagnostic results and resolution from the dealer. The key fob and engine start are still working normally, so I should be able to drive it there safely.
