Thanks for sharing your experience. My case was resolved almost identically, the throttle body needed a thorough clean and the sensor replacement fixed the response delay and power issues. Really curious though, do you remember the replacement cost for your repair? Been a few months since my fix and no check engine warnings since, but wondering if you had any other related problems pop up later?

Thanks for the update on your repair. In my case, after seeing the mechanic, the total came to 265€ for fixing the faulty accelerator pedal module, which solved the throttle valve issues completely. The air intake system has been working perfectly since the repair, with no check engine lights or power problems recurring. The initial response delay and performance issues never came back after the fix. Just make sure to keep the throttle body clean, regular maintenance helps prevent similar problems from developing again. The repair cost was worth it considering how much better the car runs now. For anyone else reading with similar symptoms, addressing these throttle-related problems early can prevent more expensive repairs down the line. The check engine warnings should always be taken seriously when they coincide with power loss.

After searching around for a while and getting really nervous about potential costs, I finally took my Ignis to a certified Suzuki specialist. The mechanic diagnosed the throttle body issue within an hour, exactly what was suggested here. The total repair bill came to 290€, covering the cleaning, sensor replacement, and recalibration. They showed me the old throttle body, it was completely gunked up, severely restricting air flow. No wonder the car was struggling with power! The engine idling is now smooth, and the car drives like new. No more limp mode episodes or warning lights. Best part is the fuel consumption has improved noticeably. The mechanic mentioned regular throttle body cleaning could have prevented this, so I will be adding that to my maintenance schedule. Just wanted to close this thread and thank everyone for their help. It saved me from paying for unnecessary diagnostics at multiple shops.

Had similar problems with a Suzuki Swift 1.3 DDiS from 2009. The symptoms matched exactly, power loss and check engine light flashing during acceleration. The throttle body and throttle sensor were contaminated, restricting proper air flow. Initial diagnosis pointed to the accelerator pedal module, but deeper testing revealed carbon buildup in the throttle assembly. The repair involved cleaning the throttle body, replacing the throttle position sensor, and recalibrating the entire system. This turned out to be quite serious as it affected both engine performance and fuel efficiency. The restricted air flow was causing the engine to run rich, which could have led to more extensive damage if left unchecked. The fix requires specialized diagnostic equipment to properly calibrate the new throttle sensor. Would strongly recommend getting this checked by a certified shop that has experience with Suzuki diesel engines, as incorrect calibration can cause ongoing issues. A warning sign to watch for: if the check engine light starts flashing more frequently during acceleration, this indicates the problem is getting worse. The throttle body system is crucial for proper engine operation and fuel management.
