Suzuki Carry HVAC Flap Failure Causing Heat Issues

My Carry is still at 15268 KM and just had its initial service last month. Thanks for sharing your experience. The error code is showing P0533. The blower motor runs smoothly with no unusual sounds, but the air circulation is inconsistent. The main issue seems to be with the air distribution, theres minimal flow through the upper vents while the floor vents work fine. The temperature stays lukewarm regardless of the climate control settings. Interesting about the cable connection fix you mentioned. Ill check for any loose connections around the HVAC unit before considering more complex repairs. Might still take it to a shop though, since accessing the dashboard panel components seems pretty involved. The problem started getting noticeable when temperatures dropped below freezing. When using defrost mode, the air barely reaches the windshield.

Thanks for providing those additional details about your Carry. Your error code P0533 actually points to a different issue than what I initially experienced with my Swift. This code typically relates to the A/C pressure sensor circuit, but the symptoms you describe, especially the poor defrost performance and lukewarm air, strongly suggest a heater core problem rather than just an air distribution issue. Now that you mention the temperature conditions and the recent service, this reminds me more of a coolant-related problem I encountered after my Swift hit the 20000 KM mark. The ventilation system showed similar symptoms, working floor vents but poor upper vent performance. My recommendation based on this new information: Have the coolant level checked, Get the heater core flow tested, Verify the heater control valve operation, Inspect the air distribution actuators for proper movement The repair on my Swift ended up involving a heater core flush and replacing a partially blocked heater control valve. The total fix cost 320€ and resolved both the heating performance and air distribution issues. Looking at your mileage and service history, Id focus first on the heater core and coolant system before diving into the air distribution components.

The error code P0533 on my Carry really helped narrow things down. After reading about your experience with the heater core issues, I did some basic checks this weekend. Found the coolant level was actually a bit low, which might explain the temperature regulation problems. Added some coolant and noticed a slight improvement in heating performance, but the air distribution is still not right. The climate control panel shows normal operation but the upper vents and windshield defrost remain weak. Going to take it to the shop this week to have them check the heater core and control valve. The 320€ repair cost you mentioned seems reasonable if it fixes both the heating and distribution problems. Rather not risk making things worse by trying to access the heater core myself since its still under warranty. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction with the coolant system check. Will update once I get the diagnosis from the shop.

As someone with some repair experience, I dealt with a similar heating issue on my 2021 Suzuki Swift. The symptoms were nearly identical, poor temperature regulation and incorrect air distribution through the HVAC unit. Initially thought I could diagnose it myself, but the dashboard panel error code pointed to something more complex. Took it to my regular workshop where they found a loose cable connection to the air distribution motor. The issue was causing the system to malfunction, leading to poor airflow and windshield fogging. The fix involved accessing the blower motor assembly and securing the electrical connections properly. Total repair cost was 95€, mostly labor since it required partial disassembly of the lower dash area to access the components. Before suggesting specific solutions for your Carry, could you share: The exact error code showing up? Does the blower motor make any unusual sounds? Are you getting any air flow at all, or just incorrect distribution? Have you noticed any specific temperature regulation issues at certain fan speeds? This information would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced with the cable connection problem.
