Supply voltage problems and ABS error in Seat Alhambra Diesel 2010

ABS/DSC system is not working

Loss of engine power

Hello everyone! I'm worried about my Seat Alhambra Diesel from 2010 with 325182 km on the clock. It has recently lost power, the ABS warning light is on and I have the feeling that the ABS is not working properly. I have the feeling that it could be related to the supply voltage of the speed controller. Have any of you had experience with similar problems? I am grateful for any tips!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. It seems to be really serious if the ABS system on your Leon had to be completely overhauled. Do you remember how much it cost? Have you noticed any other problems since then? I just hope that there won't be any more.

No problem, we drivers have to stick together, don't we? The mechanic finally replaced the speed sensor in my Leon and it cost me €250. It wasn't exactly cheap, but since then the problems with the ABS system have been solved. No more warning lights and the performance is great again. It's annoying, yes, but it's worth having it done. After all, it's about our safety.

Wow, thanks for the specific information! 250 really isn't a lot, but if it's necessary, then I'll have to bite the bullet. Your words have given me courage and I can only agree: You definitely shouldn't cut corners when it comes to our safety. I'll start looking for a reliable mechanic. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, I know the problem only too well. Last time I was in the workshop, they had to completely overhaul the ABS on my 2013 Seat Leon. Similar signs, lack of power, ABS warning light, and then an unstable ride - just like yours. It turned out to be a serious matter. Hope you find a solution soon, buddy!

Good day! It sounds like you might have an issue with the ABS module or the speed sensor. I would check the battery and alternator voltage first, as low voltage can cause these symptoms. Also, scan for any error codes. Good luck!

How exactly would you go about checking the voltage? I have a similar problem with my vehicle.

You can check the voltage using a multimeter. Set it to 20V DC for checking your car battery. Connect the red lead to the positive terminal and the black lead to the negative terminal. A healthy battery should read around 12.6V. For the alternator, start the engine and repeat the process. The reading should be between 13.7V and 14.7V. If the readings are outside these ranges, you may have a problem with your battery or alternator.
