After replacing it, everything ran smoothly again. It was quite a challenge because the thing is really well hidden in the engine compartment and the mechanic had to be able to reach it easily. A bit much, but since the visit to the mechanic, my car has been running without any problems and the fault with the ignition starter switch has been completely rectified.
