Hey, that doesn't sound so great, but it's good to know you've been through it. Do you remember how much the main relay replacement set you back? And have you noticed any additional problems since the repair or is your Peugeot 308 still running fine? Looking forward to your answer. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I can understand you, it's just annoying when something like this happens. So, to answer your question, replacing the main relay cost me something, 120 euros to be precise. As I also had this engine control unit main relay malfunction - as you suggest - I'm glad that this repair has finally improved this issue. Since I got the car back from the mechanic, everything has been running fine again, no other problems apart from the normal MOT stuff. You know, these things happen and the repair is worth it. I hope your worries are a little less now. Good luck with your Peugeot 208!

Hey, your answer gives me some hope, thank you very much! 120 euros definitely sounds feasible to me too. I'm curious to see if this is also the problem with my Peugeot 208. I'll let you know as soon as I know more. For now, it's off to the garage and fingers crossed that everything runs smoothly. Thanks again for your help, I'm a bit more reassured now.

Hey, I know exactly what you mean. I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 308 from '18. It just wouldn't start either. As it was also a problem with the main relay, it was difficult to diagnose. The engine was running normally and then suddenly wouldn't start at all. After a few tests at a local garage, it turned out that the main relay was faulty. Yes, this was definitely a more serious problem, not a classic wear part. The main relay is basically responsible for the power supply and without a functioning relay, nothing in the car will work. So it's no small matter. In the end, the relay had to be replaced. But as soon as that was done, the car purred like a kitten again. So don't worry too much, the guys at the garage will sort it out. Just remember to describe your problem in detail so they know what to look for.
