Hey, yes, that really wasn't an easy thing to do... So, replacing the control unit cost me about 1000 euros. Quite a lot of money, I tell you! But since I've been to the mechanic, everything has been running like clockwork again. That damn message error that was ruining my day was finally fixed. With the new control unit, there have been no further problems so far at least. So I'd say it was definitely worth it, even if it's no small thing. But hey, that's just the way it is with cars, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet to get back on the road!

Well, that really doesn't sound like a ride to happiness you had there... Nevertheless, thank you for sharing your experience with me! Sure, 1000 euros is a lot of money, but if it gets the car running again and I don't have to worry about anything else, it should be worth it. For better or worse, I'll have to pay the mechanic a visit and secretly hope that it's not the control unit. But well, sometimes there are things you can't change. Thanks again for your story and the advice, I'll go and try my luck now... Keep your fingers crossed!

Misfiring in cylinder 1. Spark plugs and ignition coils plus injectors have been replaced. What is the cause?
If you've already replaced the spark plugs, ignition coils, and injectors, the next thing to check would be the compression in cylinder 1. A compression test can help determine if there's a problem with the cylinder itself, such as a damaged piston or worn piston rings. If the compression is significantly lower in cylinder 1 compared to the other cylinders, this could be the cause of your misfire. Please let us know how it goes and if you have any further questions.

Hey, have you also noticed irregular signals in the engine control unit? I had a similar problem with my 2013 Peugeot 308. The symptoms were similar to yours - mysterious electrical problems, lights flickering, car wouldn't always start. After some back and forth, the whole thing ended up in the workshop. It turned out that the control unit was defective and was sending the wrong signals to the BUS system. This had then triggered a chain of errors. The battery appeared to be low because the control unit mistakenly signaled that it was flat, even though it wasn't. I have to tell you, that was a real nuisance! But no need to worry, it wasn't irreparable damage. The control unit had to be replaced and then everything was fine again. What I can recommend is to have it checked right away. If it's the control unit, then it's better to fix it early. It can be expensive if it affects other parts of the car. Hope this helps you!
