SQ8 Seat Massage Module Fails After 115K km

Looking for advice on seat massage function failure in my 2022 SQ8. The automotive seats massage feature stopped working completely and the system shows an error code. Switch failure appears likely since all other seat functions work fine. Has anyone dealt with this electrical issue and can share their repair experience? Running a gas engine with 115228km.

I had a similar seat motor problem with my 2019 S7. The massage seat function failed with an error code and the switch did not respond. While the basic seat adjustments still worked, the massage system was completely dead. The issue turned out to be a faulty connection between the seat switch and the massage control module. After inspection, the technician found corroded pins in the main connector under the seat. This kind of electrical issue is relatively common in these models and does not indicate a major system failure. The repair involved cleaning the connector pins and replacing the seat switch assembly since it showed signs of internal wear. The massage seat functionality was fully restored after fixing these connections. This was not a serious repair in terms of system complexity, but accessing the components required partial seat removal. Make sure to have a proper diagnostic scan done, as similar symptoms can also stem from the massage motor itself or the control module. Testing the seat switch continuity will help determine if this is truly a switch failure or a deeper electrical issue.

Thanks for sharing your S7 experience. I just had my SQ8 repaired last week with a similar massage setting malfunction. The massage seat functions are working perfectly now, but I am curious about the repair costs since my luxury car is still under extended warranty and I only paid the deductible. Did you remember the total repair cost for your switch and connector replacement? Also wondering if youve had any recurring issues with the automotive seats since the fix or if its been running smoothly?

Thanks for checking back about the costs. The repair bill for my S7 seat switch issue came to 95 Euro, which covered the faulty cable connection fix. Since having the massage setting repaired, the luxury car seat functions have performed flawlessly, no recurring switch failure or other electrical problems to report. The repair turned out to be straightforward once they identified the exact connection point that was causing trouble. It is good to hear your SQ8 massage feature is working perfectly under warranty coverage. These automotive seats are quite complex with their electronic systems, but once properly fixed, they typically remain reliable. My massage feature has been working smoothly for over a year now, and I use it regularly on longer drives. The initial switch repair seems to have completely resolved the electrical issues.

Thanks for the feedback. After taking my SQ8 to the dealer last Tuesday, the car upholstery had to be partially removed to access the faulty components. The technician found corrosion in the massage control unit, similar to what others described. The entire repair took about 3 hours, and with my extended warranty, I only paid the 150 Euro deductible. The actual repair cost would have been around 850 Euro including parts and labor. The massage setting has been working flawlessly since the fix, all six programs are functioning properly and the switch failure warning has disappeared completely. For anyone else facing similar luxury car seat issues, I definitely recommend getting it checked early before the problem gets worse. The service tech mentioned that waiting too long could lead to more extensive seat motor damage.
