SQ7 Phone Connectivity Issues After Mechanic Visit

Looking for advice on electrical faults in my 2022 SQ7. Getting connectivity issues with my phone and error codes stored in the system. Had some questionable mechanic work done recently and not sure if its related. Car has 102287km on the clock. Anyone faced similar problems with their infotainment system? Would appreciate hearing about reliable mechanics who actually know how to handle these modern electrical system malfunctions.

Had the same connectivity problems with my 2019 S6. The infotainment system kept dropping connection and storing multiple error codes in the system. After diagnostic tests, the issue was traced to a faulty control module in the ignition system, which was interfering with the vehicle communication network. The transmission control unit also needed recalibration due to crossed signals from the corrupted module. This explained why the phone pairing would fail intermittently. The garage found that previous work had introduced electrical interference, causing the control modules to conflict with each other. Fixing required: Full system diagnostic scan, Control module replacement, Network signal testing, Complete system reset, Module reprogramming This was a serious repair requiring specialized diagnostic equipment. These modern electrical systems are integrated deeply into the engine management and transmission controls. Would strongly recommend having this checked at a certified shop with proper diagnostic capabilities. The symptoms match exactly what you describe, especially the error code storage and connectivity issues. These problems rarely resolve themselves and can affect other vehicle systems if left unaddressed.

Thanks for sharing your experience! That definitely sounds similar to what I am experiencing with my Audi SQ7. The electrical faults started showing up right after some routine maintenance work. My engine light also comes on intermittently when these connectivity issues occur. Wondering if you remember the total repair cost for the control module replacement and reprogramming? Also, have you had any recurring issues with the drivetrain or electrical system since getting it fixed? Just want to make sure I budget correctly and know what to watch out for.

The complete repair job was surprisingly affordable, just 45 Euro to fix the incorrect device pairing that was causing all those problems. After visiting a certified technician, they quickly identified and resolved the function restrictions that were affecting the system. Much simpler fix than initially expected, no need for extensive control module replacement. Turns out the engine light and electrical faults were all stemming from this single communication issue between systems. Since the repair, the infotainment system has worked flawlessly, with no recurring connectivity problems or error codes. The technician explained these electrical faults often seem more serious than they are. Sometimes a basic recalibration of the communication systems can resolve what appears to be complex drivetrain or ignition system issues. My S6 has been running perfectly for several months now with no warning lights or system malfunctions. Definitely recommend getting it checked soon though, even minor electrical issues can cascade into bigger problems if left unaddressed.

Going to share my recent experience with this. After reading the responses here, I took my SQ7 to a certified shop for diagnosis. The mechanic found similar issues with the control module causing interference, but in my case it was also affecting the transmission control signals. Total repair costs came to 890 Euro which included: Full diagnostic testing, Control module replacement, System recalibration, Network signal verification The mechanic completed everything in one day. Now the connectivity issues are completely resolved, no more error codes showing up, and the engine light stays off. The drivetrain is also running smoother since the electrical malfunction was fixed. Really glad I got this taken care of before it led to more serious problems. The technician explained how these electrical faults can spread through the vehicle systems if not addressed properly. Worth every cent to have it properly diagnosed and fixed by someone who understands these complex modern systems.
