Hey, thanks for the quick reply! To answer your question, the last time my Cerato was serviced was at 180,624 km, but they didn't mention anything about the fan control unit. No error codes though to indicate any issues either. Electric stuff ain't my jam, so haven't done any testing on that part yet. Sounds like your experience might be what I'm dealing with. 480 Euro is steep, but if that sorts the cooling issue, then it's worth it. Guess it's about time I take a trip to the workshop. Appreciate the help!
Hey! Glad to see my previous experience might be helpful to you! Yeah, no kidding, dealing with electric stuff can definitely be a headache if it ain't your thing (it sure isn't mine!). Just to add on a little more from my experience, my Kia also didn't have any error codes popping up. The overheating and warm AC issues were the only signs that something was off. So, don't get too hung up on the lack of error codes. The lack of cooling is more than enough to let you know that something’s definitely up. I strongly suggest you get a professional to inspect your fan control unit, since it might just be the culprit here. Booking a trip to the workshop does sound like your best bet. Here's hoping your ride gets fixed up without burning too deep a hole in your pocket. Let me know how it goes! Cheers, and best of luck!
Cheers for the supportive words and advice! Seems like you've hit the nail on the head. The lack of error codes did throw me off a bit – good to know your Kia had the same symptoms. I'll indeed head to the workshop for an inspection, gotta make sure this baby cools as it should. Will update you on how it goes. Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it. Stay safe out there!
Hey there, I got a smidge of experience from dealing with a similar issue with my 2005 Kia Optima. I ain't no expert, but I reckon I know a thing or two. Unfortunately, it ended up being my electric fan "control unit" that was on the fritz, just like your hunch. I trusted a local workshop to sort things out since I wasn't too keen on DIY-ing this one up. I shelled out around 480 Euro to get it all fixed up. Not cheap, but at least my ride is now running cool as a cucumber again. But hey, not every car is the same. To be able to properly help ya out, it's better if I knew more about whether you've already done some tests on your fan control module or if you've spotted any error codes? That sort of info can really help in pointing out if we're looking at the same problem I had. Hope this helps at least a little bit!
