Skoda Yeti Diesel Preheating Lamp Issue

I'm concerned about my 2016 Skoda Yeti diesel. The preheating lamp is constantly illuminated, and the check engine light is now on. I've also noticed smoke when accelerating and suspect an engine misfire. Could a defective glow control unit be the cause? I suspect a cable or plug connection problem.

I had a similar problem with my Yeti. The preheating lamp stayed on, and the engine light came on shortly after. Have you checked the heating element itself? It might be worth a look before replacing the control unit.

Thanks for the tip. When you say heating element, do you mean the glow plugs? Did you also experience the engine misfire and smoke when accelerating?

Yes, I meant the glow plugs. Sorry for the confusion. I also had smoke and rough idling, which I believe is the engine misfire you are experiencing. If you suspect the control unit or its connections, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly.

It was the glow control unit. The workshop found a defective cable connection. Total cost was 95€.
