Skoda Yeti Active Hood Fault Airbag Warning

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2012 Skoda Yeti, which has a diesel engine. The on-board computer keeps displaying an 'Active hood fault' message, and the airbag warning lamp is constantly illuminated. I've checked the error memory, and it seems to confirm the active hood fault, showing that the spring actuators are triggered. A possible cause might be a defective acceleration sensor related to the collision detection. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

Whoa, that sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Yeti – although mine's a diesel too, I don't remember the exact year. The 'Active hood fault' message kept popping up, along with the airbag light. It was driving me crazy. I remember something about the collision detection acting up. Did they say anything about that?

That's interesting. So, your Yeti had the same issue? Did they ever figure out what was causing the error message and the airbag light? What exactly was the collision detection problem?

Yep, same symptoms. If I recall correctly – and it was a while back now – it was something to do with a faulty sensor in the active hood system. It's all tied into the car electronics, including the airbag system. It caused the 'Active hood fault' message and triggered the airbag light. Better get it checked at a workshop. It's not something you want to mess with yourself, especially since it's a safety system thing. They'll probably need to check the hood latch and the sensor.

Took the Yeti to a workshop, and it was the acceleration sensor. They replaced it, cleared the error memory, and everything seems to be working now. The final bill was around 315€. Thanks for your help; I appreciate it.
