Hey, yes, your problem is really similar to mine! Fortunately, after I went to the mechanic for my 2012 Skoda Octavia, the defect in the air conditioning control unit was quickly rectified. The repair costs amounted to €940 for the defective air conditioning control unit. But that solved everything, after which the air conditioning ran perfectly again and I had no further surprises. I can well understand that you are suspicious because of your last garage experience. But in my case, the visit was definitely worth it. It's best to find a garage that you trust. I hope this helps you! Greetings

Thanks for the information! 940 € is quite a lot of money, but if it really helps then it's probably necessary. I'll probably have to go to a garage after all, but this time I'll have to choose a reputable one. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Let's see if I'm lucky and the problem is found straight away. Greetings and thanks again!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Skoda Octavia. My air conditioning control unit was defective, which manifested itself in similar symptoms - the fan didn't work properly. The workshop replaced the air conditioning control unit. The diagnosis was relatively quick, as the mechanic immediately recognized that it wasn't the blower itself, but the control unit. It was a serious matter, because without this part the air conditioning system would fail completely. After the new control unit was installed, everything worked perfectly again. If you have any further questions, please get in touch. Greetings
