Hey, thanks for the answer! My Superb currently has 113456 km on the clock and was last in the garage for the regular service about 3 months ago. The problem with the black smoke and loss of power has been occurring for about 2 weeks. Your assumption about the lambda sensor sounds plausible, so I'll take it up with the garage. Do you have any other tips on what I should consider before visiting the workshop? LG!

Hey, thanks for the info! If your Superb has only recently been to the garage, it could indeed be that something has been overlooked or a new problem has developed. In addition to the lambda sensor, the DPF (diesel particulate filter) could also play a role. If this is clogged, it can also lead to black smoke and loss of power. Here are a few things you could consider before your workshop visit: 1 **Read fault codes**: If you have access to an OBD-II diagnostic device, you could read the fault codes yourself. This could give you an initial indication of what's going on. 2 **Check air intakes**: Check the air intakes and the air filter. Sometimes a clogged air filter can cause similar symptoms. 3 **Check the EPT system**: Check that all hoses and connections in the exhaust and turbocharger system are in order. A small leak can cause major problems. 4 **Fuel quality**: Have you filled up at a new gas station lately? Sometimes poor quality diesel can cause such problems. It's really important that the garage makes a thorough diagnosis and doesn't just treat the symptoms. So keep the pressure on and discuss all the possibilities. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing major and that you'll soon be able to drive again without any worries! LG!

Hey, thanks a lot for the detailed tips! That really helps me. I'm going to get an OBD-II diagnostic device and read out the fault codes so that I'm better prepared when I go to the workshop. I will also check the other points in advance, especially the air filter and the hoses. Hopefully it's just a minor issue. Thanks again for your support and good advice. I'll let you know if there's any news or if I need further help. Keep your fingers crossed for me! LG!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Skoda Octavia Diesel (2016). Back then it was a defect in one of the lambda sensors and I had similar symptoms: black smoke, engine light on, loss of power and foul smell from the exhaust. I only have some experience with cars, so I went to the garage. At the garage they diagnosed the faulty lambda sensor and replaced it. This cost me a total of 375.0 euros. After the new lambda sensor was fitted, the car ran perfectly again. It's best to have your Superb checked at the garage so that you can be sure. What other exact symptoms does your car show and when did the problem start? Perhaps I can then help you more specifically. Best regards!
