Skoda Scala Power Tailgate Issue

I'm having a strange problem with my 2020 Skoda Scala's power tailgate with Gasoline engine. It only opens part way, and there's an error in the error memory. Diagnostics suggest a possible problem with the cable or plug connection of the tailgate hall sensor. I suspect the sensor wiring. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I had a similar problem with my Scala where the power tailgate would only open partially. I also thought it might be the sensor wiring. Have you looked at the sensor calibration? Does VCDS show any specific errors related to the tailgate motor?

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't checked the sensor calibration yet, but I did get the error code. It points to a hall sensor fault. Is this the same issue you had, specifically related to vehicle sensor problems?

Yes, same error as mine, confirmed by the diagnostic tool. Because of the hall sensor fault, the sensor wiring harness inside the tailgate is probably the problem. I suggest taking it to a good workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair involving the tailgate motor. Trying to fix the sensor wiring yourself could cause more problems.

Good news for anyone facing a similar power tailgate problem The Skoda workshop verified that the sensor wiring inside the tailgate was defective. The entire repair, including parts and labor, cost 95€. Thanks for the helpful input
