Skoda Roomster Seat Heater Problem

My Skoda Roomster build year 2006 with a gasoline engine is experiencing a seat heater failure. The seat heating does not get warm at all. I scanned the car and there is an error stored in the error memory related to the seat heater. From what I've read, the likely cause is a defective seat heating mat. Has anyone experienced this before?

Oh man, seat heater failure is the worst! I had the same issue with my old Opel Corsa. The seat would stay cold as ice. Have you checked the fuse for the seat heater? That was the first thing the mechanic asked me. Also, maybe a faulty temperature control? That's just a guess though!

Thanks for the quick reply! Where was the fuse located in your Corsa? And how did you diagnose a faulty temperature control?

The fuse box was under the steering wheel, I think. But honestly, I didn't diagnose the temperature control myself. I took it straight to the workshop. They ran some tests and told me it could be the temperature control, but in the end, it was the heating element itself. Given you already have an error code, it probably points to the heating element.

The workshop confirmed the heating element in the seat was defective. The repair cost 390€ to replace the seat heater. It's all working as expected now.
