When you experienced this issue, were your brakes noticeably worn, or was it more subtle? I'm trying to gauge how urgently I need a brake inspection.

In my case, the brakes were significantly worn. It's prudent to have a workshop check them. Continuing to drive with low brake fluid might be risky. I strongly advise against neglecting car brakes.

Thank you for the insights. The issue was indeed worn brakes, as you suggested. Had a fluid replacement as well. The repair amounted to 480€.

I have a Roomster too. A similar thing happened to me a while back. Low brake fluid and spongy pedal feel usually indicate an issue with your hydraulic brakes. Have you inspected your car brakes for wear?
