Interesting, thanks for the reply. I haven't checked the refrigerant level myself, but the garage mentioned an error code related to the AC compressor. What was the 'something else' in your case? Was it also the AC compressor?

Yeah, in my case, it ended up being the AC compressor as well. The car air conditioning control unit was supposedly faulty, causing the AC compressor to fail. If the garage already suspects the AC compressor and there's an error code, it might be worth getting it checked out by a specialist. At least you will know for sure.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I took it to a local garage, and they confirmed the AC compressor was shot. They're quoting around 980€ to replace it, which seems about right considering what you said. Hopefully, this fixes the issue!

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar problem with my Renault Megane a while back. The automotive cooling just stopped working, and a warning light popped up. Have you checked the refrigerant level? That was my first thought, but it turned out to be something else.
