Skoda Rapid central locking malfunction

Central locking on my 2015 Skoda Rapid with a gasoline engine has gone kaput. Doors won’t lock or unlock, and there’s an error stored. Diagnostics points to a defective cable or plug connection in the locking mechanism.

That sounds frustrating. Have you checked the fuse box related to the door locks and central locking system? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause these symptoms. Also, does your Skoda Rapid have keyless entry, and if so, is the key fob working correctly?

Good shout about the fuses, I’ll check those. Where exactly is the fuse for the door locks located? My Rapid does have keyless entry but I only ever use the physical key.

Given the diagnostic result and the symptoms, a defective cable or plug connection is indeed the likely culprit. While checking fuses is a good first step, tracing the specific wiring for the door locks can be tricky without the right tools and knowledge. I suspect you'll need to visit a workshop to get this resolved.

You were spot on with the cable/plug connection. The workshop confirmed it, and the central locking is now working. Cost me 95€. Thanks for the help.
