Skoda Praktik Diesel Engine Running Rough

I'm experiencing a problem with my 2010 Skoda Praktik diesel. The check engine light is illuminated, and the engine is running rough. Car diagnostics revealed an error stored in the error memory related to the water sensor. From my understanding, a likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Praktik. The check engine light was on, and the engine ran rough. I'm no expert, but have you checked the car diagnostics for any error codes? It could be a sensor fault. Maybe try some sensor testing to see if it's a moisture sensor problem. Auto electronics can be tricky.

Thanks for the quick response. Did you also have an error stored in the error memory? And if yes, what did you do to fix it? Did you find that the cable or plug connection of the component was defective?

Yes, the error was related to the water sensor. I didn't attempt to fix it myself, as I'm not confident enough with auto electronics. I took it to a workshop, and they found a defective cable. So I would recommend going to the workshop to get it fixed.

Thank you for the advice. The workshop confirmed it was indeed a defective cable to the water sensor. The repair cost 95€, and the engine is now running smoothly again.
