Skoda Octavia Seat Heater Problem

My 2004 Skoda Octavia with a gasoline engine has a problem with the seat heater. It's not getting warm at all, and there's an error stored in the error memory. I suspect the seat cushion heating mat is defective. Any ideas?

I think I had a similar problem with my Octavia. The seat heater wouldn't get warm. Did you check the fuses? Which error code is stored?

I checked the fuses, they seem ok. Don't know the error code by heart unfortunately. Is it a big deal to replace the heating mat?

Yeah, sounds like the heating mat then. It’s buried in the seat so replacing it yourself might be tricky. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll probably need to remove the seat and the seat cover to get to the mat.

I took it to a shop and they confirmed the seat heating mat is faulty. Quoted me 390€ for the heating repair. Ouch!
