Interesting. So, when you say check the electrical connectors, what exactly am I looking for? Is there a specific way to test them, or is it more of a visual inspection type of thing?

Yep, visual inspection mostly. Look for any signs of corrosion – that green or white powdery stuff. Also, check if the connectors are properly seated. Give the wires a gentle tug to see if any are loose. If you have a multimeter, you could check for voltage at the connector when the headlights are switched on, but honestly, unless you're comfortable with electrical testing, I'd probably just take it to a workshop at this point. Given the symptoms and the error code, a defective servomotor is a strong possibility, and they'll be able to diagnose it properly. It could also be related to the auto-leveling system's sensors, but a workshop will be able to pinpoint the exact cause.

Took the Octavia to the shop as you suggested. It was indeed a defective servomotor in the headlight unit, just as you suspected. The whole thing cost me around 1040€ to get fixed. Thanks a lot for your help and pointing me in the right direction!

Headlight malfunction, eh? Sounds like a pain. I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 307. The auto-leveling went haywire. First thing I'd check, and this might sound obvious, is the headlight switch itself. Sometimes a dodgy switch can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems. Then, have you had a look at the electrical connectors going to the headlights? Give them a wiggle, see if anything changes. Could be a loose connection or corrosion causing the trouble. But yeah, if the low beam is shining all over the place, it does sound like the servomotor is suspect.
