Skoda Octavia AdBlue issue

I'm seeking advice. My 2016 Skoda Octavia, diesel engine, with 87892 km on the odometer, presents a problem. The speedometer displays an error message indicating an empty AdBlue tank. Furthermore, the error memory corroborates this diagnosis. Most distressingly, the engine refuses to start. Preliminary investigations suggest a defective AdBlue output line connecting the tank to the dosing unit. Any insights?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Octavia, though I can't remember the exact mileage. That dashboard alert is super annoying, right? For me it was the diesel exhaust fluid injection system. Have you checked the AdBlue injector itself? Sometimes they get clogged and throw off the whole SCR catalyst system. What's your typical tank capacity usage like?

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say "AdBlue injector", are you referring to the dosing unit that injects the fluid into the exhaust stream? And how did you eventually resolve the problem?

Yep, the dosing unit! That's the thing. And yeah, it ended up being a faulty line from the AdBlue tank itself. I tried cleaning the injector, but no luck. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. They can properly diagnose the injection system and confirm if it’s the same issue. Don't want to mess with the SCR catalyst unnecessarily, you know?

Appreciate the insight. Took it to a workshop and you were spot on. Defective AdBlue output line from the tank to the dosing unit. New part and labor came out to 250€. All good now.
