Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did a Diagnostic scan and it also says lateral acceleration sensor fault. Did you replace the sensor yourself? Was it difficult? How much did the repair cost you?

Nah, I didn't touch it myself. Messing with ABS systems without the right tools and knowledge is asking for trouble in my opinion. And yes the sensor was the problem, it's located under the seat. I'd say, get a quote from a reputable workshop, make sure they are familiar with Skoda's and can perform the necessary recalibration after replacing the sensor. That sensor is crucial for Electronic stability and Traction control systems to work correctly, so don't delay. A bad sensor can seriously compromise your Safety warning systems.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and for sharing your experience. It's reassuring to know I'm not alone! I took your advice and brought it to a trusted workshop. As you suspected, the lateral acceleration sensor was indeed faulty. They replaced the affected control unit, ran a wheel alignment, and the ABS light is finally gone. Cost me around 1000€, which stings, but at least my Electronic stability and Traction control are back in action. Thanks again!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Octavia. ABS light popping up, the whole shebang. Did you run a diagnostic scan to pinpoint the exact error code? Mine pointed to a faulty lateral acceleration sensor, which screws with the Electronic stability and Traction control. Is your steering wheel perfectly aligned, or does it pull to one side? A bad Wheel alignment can sometimes trigger weird ABS behavior too. Just throwing ideas out there. It's definitely a Safety warning situation, so get it sorted ASAP!
