Hey, sure, I can help you with that. In my case, the ignition coil problem was actually solved after a visit to the mechanic. The cost of replacing the defective engine control unit was €1000. Since then, the car has been running perfectly again and I have had no further problems. So, I can really only recommend that you have your engine control unit checked. Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the info! Well then, I've decided to go straight to the mechanic. After talking to you, I thought it would be better to tackle the matter as quickly as possible. So I went there last Friday. When I arrived, I explained everything to the mechanic and he went straight to reading out the fault memory. And sure enough, it was the engine control unit! No wonder, given the symptoms my Octavia was showing. Fortunately, they were able to order the control unit immediately and install it the following Monday. The replacement wasn't cheap, at around €1200, but since then my car has been running like clockwork again. No more smoke, no loss of power and the engine runs smoothly again. Hi, I had similar problems with my 2016 Skoda Superb. My car also had black smoke when accelerating, engine light came on, had loss of power and ran rough. In my case, it was actually due to a faulty engine control unit (ECU). In my case, the engine control unit had to be completely replaced, which is quite a serious matter. It took quite a bit of diagnostic time before the cause was clear. Replacing the ECU then resolved all the symptoms. Have the fault memory read out by your mechanic to be sure. Good luck!
