Skoda Kodiaq emergency mode gearbox problems

Gearbox is in emergency mode

Hello everybody! I own a Skoda Kodiaq and have been experiencing a problem with the gearbox going into emergency mode after a longer drive, especially on twisty roads. After I stop the car and let it sit for a while, the problem goes away temporarily. I went to a tester and was told it could be a spiral sensor in the steering wheel, as I am getting ESP errors on both the engine and gearbox. Do you think this could be the real cause of the problem? If not, what else could be causing these symptoms? Thanks in advance for your help!

It's possible that the spiral sensor could be causing the ESP errors, which might affect the gearbox. However, before replacing it, check the battery and alternator to ensure they are providing consistent voltage, as electrical issues can sometimes trigger similar problems. If the battery and alternator are fine, then consider inspecting the wiring and connections related to the ESP system. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

The same mechanic, told me that, the sensor was not initialized...and that, he gave it an initialization and I might not have any more problems. Until I take a longer drive, I won't be able to tell, because, around town I don't have these problems I described above.

Take a longer drive when you can to see if the issue persists. If the problem returns, consider checking the gearbox fluid level and condition, as low or degraded fluid can cause similar symptoms. Let me know how the test drive goes or if you have any further questions!

The gearbox fluid, I changed it 2 weeks ago.

The gearbox fluid, I changed it 2 weeks ago.

Since the gearbox fluid has been recently changed, ensure that the fluid level is correct and there are no leaks. If the issue persists, it might be worth checking the condition of the gearbox mounts, as worn mounts can cause stress on the gearbox during twisty drives. Keep me updated on your findings or if you have more questions!
