Skoda Kodiaq Diesel Transfer Case Limp Mode

I need some help with my Skoda Kodiaq, a 2022 diesel model. It's got about 169k on the clock, and the transfer case keeps going into limp home mode. The gearbox slips and shifts pretty uncleanly when it happens. Has anyone seen this before? I read something about ABS faults causing it, which I do have, but it seems unlikely that it'd affect the gearbox.

Unclean shifts and transfer case limp home usually point to electronic issues. Have you pulled any fault codes? Gear selector issues or torque converter problems can also throw things off.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've got a bunch of diagnostic trouble codes related to the ABS system. Could a dodgy ABS really cause the gearbox to go into limp mode like that? I thought they were totally separate.

Yes, consequential faults from a faulty ABS module can trigger gearbox limp mode. Check the ABS sensors and module first. I'd recommend having a workshop look at it.

That's great news. A 0€ repair cost is unreal. Thanks for the heads-up about the ABS thing. I'll definitely keep an eye on it. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
