Skoda Kodiaq Automatic Transmission Problems

I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2018 Skoda Kodiaq diesel is giving me grief. The automatic transmission is acting up. Shifting is all over the place, the transmission indicator light is on, and it sometimes goes into emergency mode. It just doesn't shift like it used to. Could it be the transmission oil?

Implausible shifting behavior, transmission light… sounds familiar. Though mine wasn't a Kodiaq, I had similar issues with my previous Skoda. Is your automatic transmission slipping? Have you checked the transmission oil level and condition? When was the last transmission flush?

Slipping transmission is definitely happening. I haven't checked the oil myself, to be honest. How critical is a transmission flush? Is it really necessary or can I just get the transmission oil replaced?

Based on your description and the symptoms, it does sound like it could be related to the transmission oil. My experience suggests that a complete transmission flush and oil replacement is often the most effective approach. It's best to consult a workshop to perform a diagnostic check. They can assess the oil's condition and confirm if an oil replacement or a more extensive service is required.

Turns out it was undervoltage causing the transmission to freak out. I got it sorted for 240€ at the workshop. New transmission oil and an oil replacement did the trick.
