Thank you for your prompt response. I have not yet inspected the battery voltage or wiring harness. Could a fluctuation in voltage indeed cause such a comprehensive failure of the gear shift indicator and transmission control?

Yes, a voltage issue can definitely cause those symptoms. Modern automotive electronics are sensitive to voltage fluctuations. However, given the array of issues you're seeing and the error codes stored, it's highly probable that the control unit itself is faulty. It would be best to get it checked out by a professional to confirm.

I appreciate the insight provided. I will proceed to schedule a service appointment with a qualified technician to address the control unit issue. Thank you for confirming my suspicions and providing clarity on the matter.

Sounds like a tricky one! The symptoms you describe—gear selection display malfunction, shifting problems, and stored error codes—all point towards a central control issue. It's like a conductor leading an orchestra with a broken baton; the whole performance suffers. Have you checked the basics like battery voltage and the condition of the wiring harness connected to the transmission control unit? Sometimes low voltage or a loose connection can cause electronic gremlins.
