Skoda Karoq Remote Locking and Starting Issues

Thanks for the quick reply! The battery seems fine, I checked it with a multimeter and it's showing a good voltage. As for the antenna mount, I haven't really looked closely. Where exactly would I find it on the bumper of my Karoq? And if it is the cable or plug connection, is that something I could potentially fix myself, or would I be better off taking it to a professional? I'm not super experienced with car electrics, so I'm a bit worried about messing something up even more.

Yeah, based on what you're describing, a faulty cable or plug connection at the bumper antenna is definitely a strong possibility. Especially since the error memory points directly to it. As for where it's located, it varies, but usually it's either behind the bumper cover itself, or sometimes accessible from underneath the car near the bumper. I'd recommend checking your owner's manual or searching online for diagrams specific to your Karoq model. Regarding fixing it yourself: if you're not comfortable with car electrics, I'd honestly advise against it. You could potentially cause more damage or even injure yourself. Since the error memory is showing a definite fault and you're experiencing these symptoms, it's best to have a professional diagnose and repair it. It will save you time, money and uncertainty in the long run.

Just wanted to say thanks a bunch for the help! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on. They found a faulty cable at the antenna mount, just like you suspected. An antenna repair for 95€, and everything is back to normal. Remote works, no more errors. I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!

Whoa, that sounds like a real headache! A faulty bumper antenna causing all those issues? It's definitely unusual, but not unheard of. The fact that your remote locking/unlocking is affected, along with the engine start issue, really points to something disrupting the car's communication systems. Have you checked the basics like the car battery voltage? A weak battery can sometimes cause weird electrical gremlins. Also, where is the bumper antenna mount located on your Karoq? Is it exposed to a lot of road grime or potential damage? Maybe give the antenna itself a visual inspection for any obvious cracks or damage. It's worth a shot before diving into more complicated diagnostics. Could be signal interference in your area too, although that's less likely if it's a sudden change.
