Skoda Karoq Gearbox Issues

Alright, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. I've got a 2022 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine, and I'm experiencing some weird gearbox issues. The car has about 65330 km on the clock. Basically, the gears seem to be slipping, and the shifts aren't smooth at all – almost 'unclean' feeling. A friend suggested it might be related to the transfer case oil. He mentioned something about a 'transfer case oil wear fault'. Could this be causing the problem? Anyone experienced something similar?

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had a similar thing happen with my old Opel Insignia. It wasn't the transfer case oil specifically, but the gearbox felt super clunky, and the shifting was all over the place. Is the transfer case like, part of the gearbox then? Could be that the gear oil is not doing its job!

Thanks for sharing! Yeah, the mechanic mentioned something about the gear oil not doing its job properly. What exactly do you mean by that? Was there a specific component that failed in your Opel?

Okay, so in my Opel, it turned out to be defective gears inside the gearbox. It wasn't a cheap fix, but before that I also had some problems with low transmission fluid, so you might be onto something with the 'gear oil' theory. I would take it to a workshop to have it checked properly. They'll know what to look for.

Took it to a trusted mechanic, and they confirmed it was the transfer case. Turns out there was some gear wear, and the transfer case oil had leaked a bit. Cost me about 330€ to get it sorted, which isn't as bad as I feared. Thanks for the advice!
