Skoda Karoq Emergency Call Failure

I have a 2019 Skoda Karoq with a Gasoline engine and 54490 km. I'm getting a persistent error related to the emergency call system. There's an error stored, a visual error message in the speedometer, and a warning light also in the speedometer. Diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection is the probable cause. The estimated repair cost is around 95€. Has anyone else had similar call failure issues with their Karoq's telematics system and can offer any insights or suggestions? Any advice regarding a system reset or troubleshooting before involving a technician would be appreciated!

That's a bummer! I've heard the emergency call system can act up in some Skodas. Does the error message stay on all the time, or does it come and go? Did you try a simple system reset, if that's even possible? I'm no expert, but sometimes those things are just software glitches. I hope it's something simple and doesn't cost too much!

Thanks for the reply! The error message is persistent, it's always there when the ignition is on. I haven't tried a system reset myself, as I wasn't sure if there was a specific procedure for the telematics control module. Is there a standard method, or is it best left to a workshop with the appropriate diagnostic tools?

Okay, if it's a constant error, then it's probably not just a random glitch. And since you're seeing the warning light and error message all the time, I wouldn't mess around with it too much yourself. You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if that clears anything, but honestly, with something like the SOS signal, it's probably best to get it checked out by someone who knows what they're doing. Especially if they already suspect a connection issue, it might be a quick fix. Hopefully, it's just that corroded plug they mentioned! Good luck!

For anyone experiencing similar telematics issues with their Karoq: It was exactly as suspected, a faulty connection. The workshop found a corroded plug on the telematics control module. They cleaned it, applied contact spray, and reset the system. The emergency call system is working again. The total cost was 95€, including diagnostics. Thanks for the help!
