Skoda Karoq Diesel Water Sensor Issue

My 2020 Skoda Karoq diesel is giving me fits! The check engine light is on, and the error memory says there's a water sensor issue. The engine also seems to be running rough sometimes. Mileage is at 81671 km. Any ideas?

Check the sensor's wiring and connector. Could be a loose connection or corrosion. Is the engine running rough all the time, or only when the malfunction indicator is on?

Where exactly is the water sensor located? And how would I check for corrosion?

It's usually near the fuel filter. Look for greenish or white deposits on the metal parts of the connector. If you're not comfortable, best to get it checked by a workshop. A faulty water sensor can cause rough running.

Car diagnostics confirmed it was a defective cable/plug connection to the water sensor. They fixed it for 95€. All good now!
