Skoda Kamiq Central Locking Failure

I am at my wit's end with my Skoda Kamiq (2022 model, gasoline engine)! The central locking has completely stopped working. I can no longer lock or unlock the doors. The dashboard is showing an error. I took it to a local garage, and they said the error memory shows a problem with the central locking system, likely a defective cable or plug connection. Could it be related to the fuse box, the key fob, the car alarm, or maybe even the keyless entry system? Has anyone experienced anything similar? I'm dreading a huge repair bill!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Kamiq. Check the fuse box first; a blown fuse can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems. Also, have you tried the spare key fob? Could be a battery issue there.

Thank you for your reply! Where exactly is the fuse box located, and which fuse should I be looking at? And regarding the key fob, would that really affect all the door locks? I thought the keyless entry and car alarm were separate systems.

Yeah, the fuse box is usually under the steering wheel or in the engine compartment – check your owner's manual for the exact location and fuse diagram. A faulty fuse can definitely mess with the door locks. And while the keyless entry and alarm are separate, they often share components. The garage is probably right about the connection. I bet it'll be around 95€ to fix.

Oh my goodness, you were completely right! I took it to the workshop, and they found a defective plug connection. They replaced it, and the central locking is working perfectly again. The bill was 95€, just like you said it might be. Thank you so, so much for your help!
