Skoda Kamiq Audio System Problem

I'm having a problem with the sound system in my 2020 Skoda Kamiq diesel. The audio system doesn't work at all. I scanned for errors, and it shows an error related to the display. The error memory suggests the display is defective. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before? Thinking it might be faulty wiring, but not sure. All I get is static noise from the car speakers. It’s like listening to an old radio that isn’t tuned in properly.

Sounds like a pain. Is the static noise constant, or does it come and go? Have you checked the car speakers themselves? Sometimes a loose connection can cause that, like a dodgy wire. Also, any Bluetooth problem when you try to connect your phone?

The static is constant once the sound system is on. I haven't checked the speakers. How would I even start with that? Is it something I can do myself, or is it a bit more involved?

Yeah, constant static points away from something simple like a loose car speaker wire. It's probably the display unit then, as the error code suggests. Best to get it checked by a workshop. They'll be able to confirm the diagnosis and replace it. Think of it like a doctor diagnosing an illness; sometimes you need the right tools.

Thanks for the input. I took it to the shop like you said. Turns out the display unit was indeed faulty, just like the error memory suggested. Cost me 725€ to replace. Ouch!
