Skoda Fabia height control problems

Alright, I'm officially pulling my hair out! My 2007 Skoda Fabia with a diesel engine is giving me grief. The height control warning light is on, my low beams are acting crazy, pointing either way too high or low, and the car feels like it's doing the limbo, uneven height, especially at the front. Plus, it feels like I'm driving on square wheels! The error memory shows something related to the height control. I've heard it might be a defective control rod on the sensor. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a suspension issue. I had something similar with my Fabia a while back. Is your car equipped with air suspension or some kind of leveling system? Does the warning light always stay on, or does it come and go? Maybe it's just a faulty leveling sensor. The control module might be throwing an error because of that.

Air suspension? I don't think so, it's a pretty basic Fabia. But leveling system… maybe? Where exactly is this leveling sensor located, and how difficult is it to check the control rod you mentioned?

Yeah, sounds like the same problem I had. The leveling sensor is usually located near the suspension components, often on the front or rear axle. It's part of the leveling system, not necessarily air suspension, it helps adjust the headlight beam based on the vehicle's load and angle. Honestly, unless you are really comfortable working on cars, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact sensor and check the control rod properly. Messing with the suspension or the control module without the right tools and knowledge could make things worse.

You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the control rod on the leveling sensor. New one fitted, cost me 110€, and the light is gone. Ride is smooth again. Thanks a bunch for your help!
