Skoda Fabia brake light error

I'm getting seriously annoyed. My Skoda Fabia, build year 2006, with a diesel engine is throwing up a brake light error. The error memory has a fault stored, the brake lights sometimes don't work, and there's an error message on the dash. I suspect it might be the brake switch, but I'm not 100% sure. Has anyone had this happen before?

Sounds like a dodgy brake switch to me. I had a similar issue with my Fabia a while back. The brake lights would sometimes work, sometimes not, and the error message was driving me nuts.

Was it definitely the brake switch? Where is it located exactly? Is it easy to replace? I'm no expert when it comes to cars, but I'm willing to give it a try if it's not too complicated.

Pretty sure it was the brake switch. The garage confirmed it. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself if you're not confident. Messing with the brake pedal and automotive switch can be risky, vehicle safety first. Take it to a workshop; it's a quick and cheap fix.

The brake switch was the culprit. I replaced it, and the error is gone. No more annoying light, and all brake lights are working again. It cost me nothing as I had a spare one lying around. Thanks for the tip.
