Skoda Citigo Tire Pressure ABS and Steering Issues

Alright, so I've got a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2017 Skoda Citigo with a gasoline engine. It's done about 183277 km. Recently, the tire pressure low warning light has been coming on. But here's the weird part: the ABS lamp lights up as well, the steering wheel vibrates or shakes, and it feels like I need to put in way more effort to steer, like the power steering has packed it in. Could low tire pressure cause all this? Any ideas what might be going on?

That sounds really similar to an issue I had with my Citigo a while back. I kept getting the tire pressure warning light, even after I inflated tires. Did you check the tire pressure with a tire gauge to make sure the tire monitoring system wasn't just acting up? And does the steering wheel vibrate constantly, or only at certain speeds? The power steering thing is concerning; I'd definitely get that checked out soonest.

Yeah, I checked the tire pressure with a tire gauge multiple times, and I'm sure the tire pressure is indeed too low. It seems to be happening more often now, like every few days I have to top it off. When you had the tire pressure issue, did you also notice the ABS lamp lighting up and the steering getting harder? And did you find any air leak?

Okay, if you're losing air that quickly, then there's a good chance you have a slow air leak somewhere. And yes, when the tire pressure gets low enough, it can definitely mess with the ABS and power steering systems, causing those symptoms. In my case, it ended up being a faulty valve in one of the tires. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop and having them check for leaks. Don't keep topping it off, as that's just a temporary solution and you don't know how fast the tire is losing pressure.

Thanks so much for the help. I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on! Turns out a valve in one of the tires was defective, causing a slow air leak. They replaced the valve, inflated tires, and now the tire pressure warning is gone. The ABS light is off too, and the steering feels normal again. Cost me about 280€, but it's worth it to have it fixed properly!
