Central locking eh? Never thought of that. Where is the lock actuator even located? And what does the key fob have to do with it?

The lock actuator is usually located near the fuel filler flap. It's a small electric motor that physically locks and unlocks the fuel door. The key fob communicates with the car's central locking module, which in turn controls the actuator. If there's an electrical issue, like a short circuit or a faulty module, it can affect multiple functions. If the error codes persist, I'd recommend a workshop visit.

Cheers for the help. Turns out the garage diagnosed it as a faulty lock actuator. Cost me 210€ to get sorted, but at least I can fill her up again!

I had a similar experience with my Vauxhall Astra. The central locking system is often interconnected. Did you check the error codes? An electrical fault could be the culprit. The fuel door release is often linked to the car's key fob and central locking system.
