Skoda Citigo Engine Troubles

My 2011 Skoda Citigo with a gasoline engine is acting up. Sometimes it won't start, other times it shuts off while driving, and sometimes runs rough. Could this be a problem with the ignition coil or the starter motor? Or perhaps a fuse?

I had a similar issue with my Citigo. The dashboard light was flickering and the engine would sometimes cut out. Have you checked the car electronics thoroughly? Maybe try wiggling the key in the ignition switch to see if that changes anything?

Wiggling the key didn't do anything. When you say "car electronics", what exactly should I be checking?

Well, in my case, the symptoms were similar to yours. It might be something related to the ignition switch itself. The workshop found a loose connection. Given the symptoms, it's best to get it checked by someone who knows car electronics properly.

Thanks for the help. Turns out it was just a defective fuse linked to the ignition. Replaced it and the car is running fine again. Cost me 52€ at the workshop.
