Skoda Citigo emergency call system malfunction

I'm facing an issue with the emergency call system in my 2019 Skoda Citigo, gasoline engine. There's an error stored in the memory, a persistent error message in the speedometer, and the associated warning light is illuminated. Diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection is the likely culprit. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their car safety systems?

I'm not very familiar with automotive electronics, but a defective cable or plug connection sounds plausible given the symptoms you describe. Is it possible there could be an issue with the telematics unit itself, or is the error message specifically pointing towards a connection problem?

That's a fair point. Is there any way to further isolate the issue to rule out the telematics unit, or does it really just come down to visually inspecting every centimeter of the wiring harness related to the emergency call system?

I wouldn't want to give misleading information. It does sound like a physical inspection of the relevant wiring is necessary, but I would probably suggest taking it to a workshop to have it checked. At least then you will know for sure.

Providing closure on this. As suspected, it was a faulty connector. 95€ later at the workshop, and the emergency call system is functioning again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Glad it was a simple fix and didn't require a full system reset, especially since it concerns car safety.
