Skoda Citigo Electric Central Locking Problems

My 2020 Skoda Citigo electric has central locking problems. None of the doors will lock or unlock using the key fob or the button inside. A diagnostic tool shows an error about the central locking, mentioning a defective cable or plug connection. Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas?

The central locking issue with your Citigo sounds familiar. To accurately diagnose the cause, can you confirm if the error code relates to the door locking mechanism or the security system's control module? This distinction is crucial, as the symptoms of malfunctioning car locks are often deceiving.

Thanks for the quick reply! How can I tell if the error code points to the locking mechanism or the security system? The error memory just says 'Central locking not working'. It's a bit vague.

Given the error message, it points toward a localized issue rather than the entire security system. Based on the information and similar cases, the error is probably a defective cable or plug connection. I suggest having the wiring and connectors of your car locks professionally inspected to avert a major system failure. I recommend a visit to a certified workshop with knowledgeable technicians to evaluate the situation.

Just reporting back. The workshop visit confirmed a defective plug connection. Cost 95€, and the central locking is now fixed. Thanks for the assistance!
