Thank you for your reply. The warning light did come on. I will check the brake lines and the master cylinder reservoir cap as you suggested. If there are no leaks, what else could it be?

Yes, low brake fluid and a spongy brake pedal often indicate worn brake pads. As the pads wear down, the calipers extend further, requiring more fluid from the master cylinder, which lowers the level in the reservoir. If there are no visible leaks, it's highly probable the brake pads need replacing. It’s important to address this urgently as worn brakes compromise safety. I would recommend a brake inspection at a service center.

I took the Citigo to a service center and the brake inspection revealed worn brakes were indeed the culprit. Repair cost came to 480€. Thank you again for your insights!

That does sound concerning. Has the warning light illuminated on the dashboard? Low brake fluid is definitely something to address promptly. It might be worth checking the brake lines for any visible leaks. Also, is the master cylinder reservoir cap on tight?
