Hey, thanks for taking the time to reply. My Lodgy has about 88756 KM on her, so she's been around the block a bit. I do a basic checkup once a week, coolant and oil and all that jazz. Regarding services, I just had her serviced a couple of months ago, everything was running as smooth as a whistle. I did not have any parts replaced during the service, though. I'll probably try diagnosing the PTC heater and see what comes out of it, considering your experience with the auxiliary heater. Anyway, will keep you posted on how it turns out. Cheers!
Hey there! Good on you for doing regular checkups- it's often the best way to catch problems early. Your mileage doesn't strike me as out of the ordinary for a '17 Dacia Lodgy, and if everything was dandy at your last service, then we can likely rule out any long-standing, deep-seated issues. Now, onto your issue: the overheating and constant coolant level drop sure does point to a heating issue. Maybe the PTC heater, as you suspected, or even the auxiliary heater as in my case. Even a leakage in the cooling system could cause this problem. The good news: both are not overly complicated or costly to fix if it's them. It’s good that you're looking to have the PTC heater diagnosed- I'd recommend getting your entire cooling system checked out while you're at it. If there’s any tiny leakage or an issue with the pump which we can't see, it's better they find out now. Keep us posted, hope it turns out to be a minor issue and quick fix. Driving like the wind soon again fingers crossed!
Hey! Your suggestions make total sense. I reckon having a more comprehensive check done on the cooling system in addition to the PTC heater diagnosis is a good shout. Definitely don't want to overlook anything and wind up with a more serious problem in the long run. I'll get that sorted straight away and update you guys on the situation. Appreciate your advice, it’s really helped to clear the air. Here's wishing it's nothing too serious. Can't wait to be back on the road again without constantly worrying about my car's temperature. Fingers crossed and cheers!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2015 Dacia Sandero, not exactly the same model but close enough, amirite? Now, I ain't no professional mechanic or anything but I've got some experience in tinkering with cars. I ended up taking my ride to a local workshop when it started having these overheating problems. Turned out to be an electric auxiliary heater defect. I ended up paying around 350€ to get it sorted and it's been smooth sailing ever since. But hey, to give you more specific advice I'd need to know more about your ride. Mileage? How often you’re checking the coolant level and topping it up? Any recent services or part replacements? Hope this helps, and fingers crossed it ain't anything too serious with your car. Good luck!
