Hey, nice to learn from your experience and seems like an avenue to explore. My Arkana's mileage is at 163430 km. I've been timely with all the regular services so far. However, my last service wasn't too long ago. Despite the issues I'm struggling with now, it all appeared fine then. But, yea, perhaps I should've it checked specifically for the starter motor. Thanks for pointing it out. Appreciate the help. Cheers!
Hey, no problem at all, glad I could provide some insights. With all the dedicated servicing, it's a bit odd that your Renault is showing such unusual behaviour. The starter motor issue shows up usually around 150,000 - 200,000 kilometers, so your Arkana is within that range which gives the theory some weight. Just a heads up, sometimes, the alternator can cause similar problems too - flickering lights, problems with engine start etc, if it's unable to charge the battery efficiently. Since the last service didn't report anything unusual, the alternator issue if any might have been overlooked. I'd suggest, just to cover all bases, get the alternator and battery checked too while you are at it. Lastly, don't 100% bank on my diagnosis. It's based on my own experience which might not entirely align with yours. Best advice is to get a professional to check it out. Keep us updated. Really hope we get your baby back on road real soon. Cheers!
Hey, appreciate your in-depth response and the heads up! I totally get what you mean, every situation might not necessarily be the same. So, yeah, it does make sense to get a professional diagnosis. I've planned a visit to the service center, and I'll make sure to have the starter, alternator, and battery checked out in detail. Thanks again for taking the time out to help. I'll definitely update you guys on what the mechanic finds. Fingers crossed, hopefully, it won't be anything majorly wrong. Truckin' on till then! Take care. Cheers!
Hey there! A similar problem happened to me in my 2018 Renault Captur, so I got some experience in this, albeit low. From what you described, it definitely seems like a starter motor issue. I initially thought it was a battery or alternator problem, but it turned out to be the starter motor on my ride. The guys at the workshop were professional and super helpful. They pinpointed the issue quickly and suggested a starter motor replacement. Just to give you a ballpark figure, I ended up paying around 565 euro to get that fixed. It's a bit pricey, but the on-point diagnosis and quality service made it worth every cent. Before we dive deeper into this, could you maybe provide some more info on your vehicle? Things like mileage, type of engine, or even recent maintenance history could offer some vital clues and assist further. Hope this helps and we get your Arkana behaving right again soon. Cheers!
