Seeking Troubleshooting Advice for '05 Nissan Stagea's Seat Heating Issue

Seat heating without function

Hey, I'm having an odd issue with my '05 Nissan Stagea, gas model. Suddenly, the seat heating seems to have given up on me. Initially, I thought it's a seat heating failure, but I'd like to explore all possibilities before digging deep into it. Have any of you experienced this specific problem? Can you share some troubleshooting advice? Also, I'd love to hear how your local garage managed to get it sorted and your overall experience with the fix. Thanks!

Hey there, I once had a similar problem with my '03 Nissan Skyline - pretty much the same family, if you ask me. Now, I won't proclaim being a car guru, but I’ve got some experience under my belt. My local workshop diagnosed a defective heating mat seat as the culprit. Ended up coughing up about 390 Euro for a new one. The whole experience was pretty smooth as the folks at the workshop were helpful. Given you've got the same issue, it might be the same fix. Anyway, it might help if I knew a bit more about your car: mileage, maintenance history, and all that jazz. Hope this helps a bit!

Hey, thanks for the reply! Your experience does shed some light on my problem. To give you more background, my Stagea has been on the road for about 156082 km now, and the last service was a couple of months ago. It's been pretty well-maintained, regular oil changes, tire rotations - no major issues till date. From what you've shared, it indeed sounds like the heating mat could be the issue. I'm going to get it checked out in the garage. Hoping for the best and looking forward to a warm ride again soon! Cheers!

Hey there again, glad to hear my experience could provide some insight. Your ride's mileage and maintenance record sound quite decent, similar to my Skyline when it had the heating issue. With regular maintenance and no prior major issues, the problem could indeed most likely be the seat heating mat, just like you guessed. I'd say go ahead and get it diagnosed by a professional. They should be able to confirm the problem and fix it. Just a tip though, make sure they check the wiring and switches as well. It's rare, but sometimes those can also cause the seat heaters to stop working. In any case, fingers crossed it all works out for you. Here's to hoping for a cozy ride for you soon! Stay warm!

Of course, I'll make sure they do a thorough check including the wiring and switches as you mentioned. Appreciate your help. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a cozy, warm ride! Take care!
