Seeking Solutions for VW Taigo 2022 Key Fob Issues and Persistent Warning Light

Hey! I've been having some weird glitches with my 2022 VW Taigo, Gasoline engine. The major issues include troubles locking/unlocking, key fob not working properly, and a persistent warning light on the speedometer. I have a hunch that it might be due to an empty ignition key battery, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone else faced something like this before, and if so, how did you get it sorted out in a workshop? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! I'd say your hunch sounds about right. I've got a 2020 VW T-Roc myself, pretty much the same family as the Taigo. I'm no expert but I do know my way around a car somewhat. Had something similar a while back. The key fob also started acting strange and I got the same warning light like you're having. I took it to my local mechanic, turns out my key fob battery was completely drained. A simple battery replacement, and voila, good as new. Cost me just 37€. Now just to be sure, can you tell me if there's anything else off about your car? Any sluggish responses or any other warning messages? Might help to provide a more detailed solution. Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for the quick response. Apart from what I've already mentioned, there's nothing drastically different. The mileage is currently at 56984 KM, and other than the locking/unlocking issue and the warning light, I haven't noticed any other sluggish responses or warning messages, knock on wood. I remember getting the car serviced quite recently. Based on your advice, I could look at getting the battery in the key fob replaced. Seems like a relatively simple and straightforward fix. I thought it might cost me a fortune. Hoping this resolves the problem. Thanks again! Cheers.

No problem, glad I could help! And yeah, referring to your mileage, seems about the right time for some battery issues related to the key fob. It's pretty standard stuff, nothing to fret about. I hope the battery swap helps! Just keep in mind that if the new battery doesn’t fix the issue, it might be a signal interference problem or something more complicated with the locking system. But, let's cross that bridge if we get there, right? Hope it all goes well. Do inform us how it goes. Feel free to ask for further help or advice. Cheers and good luck!

Hey! Thank you for your reassurance and thoughtful guidance! I'll proceed with the battery replacement and keep my fingers crossed. Regarding the possible signal interference or complications concerning the locking system, I hope we won't have to cross that bridge. Without a doubt, I'll be sure to update you and this community on how things pan out. I do appreciate your willingness to help down the line, as well. This truly made my day easier! Cheers and take care!

It sounds like your Golf is experiencing a serious issue with the transmission. First, check the transmission fluid level and condition, as low or dirty fluid can cause problems. If the fluid level is fine, it might be a more complex issue like a sensor malfunction or a mechanical problem within the transmission. Given the safety implications, I recommend having a professional mechanic inspect it as soon as possible. Please let us know how it goes or if you have any further questions.

The error code B104C29 indicates an issue with the immobilizer system, specifically a non-plausible signal from the WFS (Wegfahrsperre) button. Start by checking the connections and wiring related to the immobilizer system for any loose or damaged wires. If everything looks fine, it might require a diagnostic scan with specialized equipment to pinpoint the issue. If you're not comfortable with this, it's best to consult a professional mechanic. Let us know if you need further assistance or how it progresses.
