Seeking Solutions for the Heating, Cooling, and Blower Issues in a 2012 Volvo XC60 Hybrid

Blower does not work properly

|

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey folks! I'm wrestling with a quirky issue on my 2012 Volvo XC60 Hybrid. The heating and cooling aren't playing nice and the blower seems off its game. I'm figuring there's an AC error logged somewhere causing this mischief, but would love to get your thoughts on it. Any of you faced similar gremlins and, more importantly, how did your workshop tackle it? Much appreciate any tips or experiences you can share. Thanks a heap!

Hey there, I've got a bit of experience under the hood - nothing fancy but can do basic upkeep on my own. Had a similar issue on my 2014 Volvo S60, and it sounds like it might be your cli control unit playing up. Mine got repaired at my local garage, and it set me back around €880. Not the cheapest thing in the world, but the unit was defective so it was crucial to replace. Anyways, could you share some more intel on your ride's specific cli controls? That'd help me give you a more tailored advice. Cheers!

Hey there! Appreciate your sharing your experience. My XC60 Hybrid's got that automatic cli control thing going on, and it's usually superb at keeping things frosty or toasty depending on the weather. Lately though, it's like it has a mind of its own! It's been acting up for about a week now. I kept up with the regular services, the latest being at around 88,913 KM. You think I might be looking at the same bill from my local workshop as you got? Thanks for the help!

Hey, glad my previous response was of some help. Since your XC60 is equipped with automatic cli control, it indeed sounds a lot like what I experienced. I also recall my ride turning into a rebel before I got it fixed! One thing to note is that the repair cost can vary based on your location, the actual part that needs replacing, and of course, labour charges. However, you could probably expect something in the same ballpark, give or take a hundred Euro. But, before you rush off to your workshop, try this. Sometimes, a simple system reset can do wonders. Just disconnect your car battery, wait for about 20 minutes, and then reconnect. It worked for a friend of mine with a similar issue on his V40. If that doesn't help, then yeah, consider visiting your local garage. Remember, it's best not to ignore this issue. If it is indeed the cli control unit, it's not something that'll set itself right over time. Better to bite the bullet and sort it out. Anyway, let me know how it goes. Good luck!

Hi there! Thanks a heap for that advice - I just might give that system reset a go before heading to garage town. Appreciate your wisdom and the heads up on potential cost. Gotta say, I wasn't looking forward to parting with quite that many Euro but hey, won't be overlooking any issue that might mess with my ride's mojo. Sure as heck will keep you posted on whether the reset trick does the job. Cheerio and thanks again for the help!
